Suzuki Jimny Anti-Roll-Bar DIY Disconnect Kit
Here we have a kit of parts to make your own anti roll bar kit for your 98=18 Suzuki Jimny.
Kit Contains -
- Seamless Steel Tube to fit over the standard 25mm disameter antil roll bar
- Profile Cut Arms to fit over the seamless tube
- Ab M12 locking bolt with a serrated flange nut
- An M8 grease nipple
- A matching drill bit and tap for the grease nipple
- A pair of 6mm ARB spacers, bolts and spring washers
To make the kit up -
- Reference the additional photos first to familiarise yourself with where your heading
- Grind and sand the welds flat on the internal mating faces of the dislocation arms joints
- Weld the seamless tube onto the ARB (bolt the arms together to ensure everything is true)
- Grid back the welds and make it nice and tidy. then paint it
- Refit with the grease nipple threaded in and the ARB spacers fitted so that the arms don't foul on the chassis
- Remove and Cut the ARB in half (measure between the clamp bushes)
- Grind the paint off the ARB until the seamless tube fits snugly over the ARB
- Cut the seamless tube into two-thirds (20cm) / one-third (10cm) portions
- Drill and then Cut slots in the seamless tube as per example photo
- Drill and Tap for the grease nipple (Test fit it but then remove until assembly complete)
- Weld the two profile-cut dislocation arms to the ends of the seamless tube (internal and external)
- Stand back and admire your work!
To Use -
Leave it bolted up for road use to keep the Jimny nice and stable in cornering and any emergency evasive manoeuvres, and then when you get to the pay'n'play venue or greenlaning area disconnect it to take full advantage of your articulation available. Don't forget to reconnect it for a safe journey home! (Assuming you're not on a recovery truck?! )
